INSEC Provides Financial Support to Victim

Harikala Sahani, 25, who is financially weak, of Parsa Gadhi–3, has been provided financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 by the Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) Madhesh with the objective of supporting her to access legal procedures and medical treatment.

Her husband, Bishwanath Sahani, who had been arguing with her over asking money from her father for going abroad, allegedly cut her left leg with an axe on March 15. Since the incident, she has been undergoing treatment at LS Neuro Hospital located in Parwanipur–5, Bara, which is adjoining Birgunj, the district headquarters of Parsa.

INSEC Parsa representative Tulsi Bhandari handed over the amount directly to the victim at the hospital. On the occasion, former vice-president of Nepal Journalist Federation Parsa, Yubaraj Khadka, journalist Surya Narayan BK, and LS Neuro Hospital administrative chief Binod Patel, among others, were present.

Accused Bishwanath was arrested by police on March 28, and legal proceedings have been initiated, according to DSP Haribahadur Basnet.
