INSEC Karnali Province Office provided financial assistance of Rs 8,000 to Saidun Banu,36, from Birendranagar Municipality-9, on 14 November. This support was facilitated to support her in pursuing legal procedures. Pitambar Dhakal, coordinator of the Human Rights Defenders’ Network, Karnali Province, handed over the financial assistance to the victim.
After her husband, Mohammad Hakim,42, engaged in polygamy, physically abused her, and evicted her from the house, the victim submitted an application to INSEC on 1 November seeking assistance to file a case at the District Court. On 6 November, the Human Rights Help Desk decided to provide financial support. Narayan Subedi, coordinator of the INSEC Karnali Province Office, stated that the assistance was provided to make it easier for her to cover transportation, photocopying, and court fees while attending court proceedings.
