Financial Support from INSEC to Pursue Legal Action

Shantidevi Sah Sudi, 35 of Mithila Municipality–8, Dhanusha, has been provided financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 by the Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC), Madhesh Province Office, on March 26, with the objective of supporting her in pursuing legal action.

Due to the victim’s weak economic condition, the cheque amount was handed over to her through the Human Rights Assistance Desk, informed Santosh Kumar Yadav, INSEC Dhanusha representative. Immediately after receiving the support on the same day, with the initiative of INSEC, the victim filed a domestic violence case against her husband, Naresh Sah Sudi, 41, at the Dhanusha District Court.

The victim had submitted an application to the INSEC representative on March 24 seeking assistance. She stated that she had been facing domestic violence for years, mentioning that her husband repeatedly beat her and failed to provide financial support. Despite multiple attempts at reconciliation through discussions within the family and community, the issue could not be resolved, which ultimately led her to seek legal recourse through the court.
