Financial Assistance and Justice Support Provided to 28 Victims in a Year

The Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC), Madesh Province Human Rights Help Desk, provided support in 2025 to 28 victims of human rights incidents for financial assistance and advocacy for justice.

At the meeting of the Human Rights Assistance Desk held on December 31, 2025, in Janakpur, INSEC Province Coordinator Raju Paswan informed that 28 victims of human rights incidents were provided financial assistance and advocacy with relevant authorities for their justice over the course of one year.

Under the Protection Project, this year’s victims were assisted at the rate of Rs. 10,000 each with the aim of supporting them in judicial processes, Coordinator Paswan informed.

Paswan stated, “Although some victims’ cases have reached the final verdict stage, several incidents are still undergoing judicial processes.” He added that, due to poverty and financial constraints, victims who might otherwise be deprived of justice have continued to receive support from the Assistance Desk.

Chairing the meeting of the Human Rights Assistance Desk, Advocate Rajkumar Mahaseth praised INSEC’s financial support through the Help Desk as a commendable effort that has enabled economically disadvantaged victims of human rights incidents to access justice. He emphasized that organizations and stakeholders active in the field of human rights must continue to work together to protect human rights and ensure justice for victims.

The meeting discussed human rights violations occurring in the province, the situation of victims, legal challenges, and upcoming strategies.
