A one-day training on basic human rights awareness was conducted in Khotang on June 8 with the objective of providing information on fundamental human rights issues.
The training was organized by INSEC Khotang and the Human Rights Commission, Koshi Province Office, Khotang Branch, at Panch Secondary School located in Ward No. 1, Diktel, Rupakot, Majhuwagadhi Municipality. The training was provided to students studying in Grades 9 and 10.
During the inaugural session, the Chief of the National Human Rights Commission, Khotang Branch, Mohan Kafle, stated that the one-day training was conducted in coordination with INSEC and organized by the Commission with the objective of informing school-level children about basic human rights issues.
During the training program, the Principal of Panch Secondary School, Laxmi Khanal, expressed gratitude to INSEC and the Commission, stating that students gained valuable knowledge on basic human rights issues through the training. She further noted that while the school curriculum includes only limited content on fundamental rights, the training provided by INSEC and the Commission, both long engaged in the field of human rights, had a meaningful impact on the students.
