Bajir Alam, 24, alias Ojir Kawari, of Lalbandi Municipality-7, and Abhinas Jaiswal, 27, of Khatauna, Malangwa Municipality-6, have been sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment by the District Court on June 9, 2026, for abducting a 22-year-old woman, holding her captive, and gang-raping her.
The bench of District Court Judge Jiwan Kumar Bhandari found the accused guilty and sentenced each of them to seven years’ imprisonment. The court also ordered them to provide compensation of Rs. 25,000 to the survivor, according to District Court Registrar Gyan Bahadur Khatri.
The victim had filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Malangwa, on September 11, 2024, alleging that the accused had abducted and gang-raped her on August 18, 2024. Her medical examination was conducted at Sarlahi District Hospital, Malangwa, on September 12, 2024.
