During the movement, on 10 September 2025, the police arrested Alex Chand from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City–7, Laxman Bahadur Bista from the same area, and Manoj Bista from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City–1 in connection with the arson at the District Court, Kailali. Additionally, Gopal Bhatt, 28, from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City–2, Suraj Katuwal, also known as James, from Sub-Metropolitan City–3, Basantaraj Joshi, 40, from Sub-Metropolitan City–9, and Ankit Saxena, 19, were arrested on 9 December 2025 for arson at Kailali District Jail.
Inspector Kailash Bista of the Kailali District Police Office stated that on 10 September 2025, the District Court building in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City–1 was set on fire, looted, and vandalized, and that the Kailali District Jail was vandalized, resulting in the escape of 667 inmates.
According to Inspector Bista, the arrests were made based on complaints filed by the District Court and jail administration requesting action against the culprits. The accused have been taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing with a 10-day extension.
