A child marriage has been halted in Kaski in an initiation from rights activists. The child marriage about to be conducted at Lekhnath Municipality-15 of Kothegaun has been stopped on February 1 after counseling with rights activists.
The marriage between 15 years old girl from Lekhnath Municipality and 19 years old boy from Singha Municipality-15, Myagdi was halted after a counseling and pressure from the rights activists according to Chairperson Pratibha Adhikari of Lekhnath-15.
The marriage was settled in an agreement after a girl reaches a marital age.
