A 42-year-old man, Dhan Bahadur Darji committed suicide after killing his wife Vijaya Kumari Dari who was also 42-year-old, a resident of Damak Municipality -2. The husband killed his wife using a sharp knife (locally referred to as Khukuri). The attack took place during a family dispute.
After killing his wife on July 22 2026 using a sharp knife, the accused attempted to commit suicide.
After the attack the deceased sustained severe injuries on her head and on left hand. She was undergoing treatment at Damak Hospital, she passed away on July 22 2026.
After killing his wife, the accused immediately tried committing suicide using a rope. The family rescued him after cutting the rope and was taken to Damak hospital.
Pramod Khadka, Inspector at the Area Police Office, Damak informed they both lost their lives while receiving treatment.
The body was taken to Mechi Hospital for postmortem as informed by their 25-uear-old daughter Priyanka Darji.
The final rites will be performed on July 23 2026 at Kankai Mai after completion of the postmortem procedure.
