Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City Education Division Officer Ajay Bohora, 49, of Ghorahi–16, was beaten after ward member Lekhraj Budhathoki, 35, of Ghorahi–15, allegedly smeared him with black oil (used engine oil).
According to Dang Chief District Officer Nishchal Raj Pandey, the incident occurred on the morning of July 11, when Bohora, who had been assigned to oversee the School Management Committee election at Padmodaya Secondary School in Ghorahi, was stopped on his way to the school. Budhathoki allegedly poured black oil (mobil oil) over his body before fleeing the scene.
Chief District Officer Pandey said police are searching for the absconding Budhathoki. The ward member had been demanding that the School Management Committee election be halted, claiming it was not being conducted in accordance with the rules. Bohora, who served as the election officer, said he is preparing to file a police complaint following the election.
