Police arrested Bijay Kumar Pasi, 21, alias Ramu, of Mayadevi Rural Municipality–3, from his home on June 27, for allegedly defaming the character of a 21-year-old woman through social media.
According to the complaint, the accused used social media to defame the victim’s character on June 23. The victim filed a complaint with the Kapilvastu District Police Office on June 27 under the Electronic Transactions Act, alleging an electronic crime.
Based on the complaint, further legal action has been initiated, according to DSP Ripendra Kumar Singh of the Kapilvastu District Police Office.
