Policr arrested Mahant Raya Yadav, 42, a resident of Patbharwa Tol, Fatuwa Bijayapur Municipality–6, on June 24, on charges of killing his wife Aarati Devi Yadav, 32.
The accused had beaten his wife over a dowry-related dispute and killed her by attacking her with an axe on February 15, 2026. The victim’s maternal family filed a complaint against Mahant at the District Police Office, Gaur, on February 17, 2026. The post-mortem examination of the body was conducted at the Provincial Hospital, Gaur, on the same day, February 17, 2026.
