An accusation was put forth by the victim’s side, of Faling Rural Municipality-5, against an Armed Police Force (APF) personnel of beating Bir Bahadur Thamsuhang, 72, and his wife, Manimaya Thamsuhang, 71, on May 17.
Bir Bahadur Thamsuhang, who sustained injuries on his face and knee due to the beating, is currently undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Panchthar. His wife Manmaya’s condition is reported to be normal.
The victim’s side has alleged that APF personnel Sushil Thamsuhang, 23, who is stationed at the APF BOP camp in Falelung Rural Municipality–4 Falot, carried out the beating on May 17.
Bir Bahadur Thamsuhang stated that the incident occurred after he was beaten for piling stones on the road.
The victim, who is currently receiving treatment at the district hospital, told an INSEC representative during a meeting that he would not file a complaint with the police as the accused belongs to his own family.
Accused Sushil Thamsuhang has stated that he did not beat the victim and that the injuries on the victim’s face were caused because he fell on his own.
