A complaint was filed at the District Police Office on May 12, 2026, against Ward Chairperson Jibachh Yadav for allegedly tying Birendra Sah, 31, to a tree and subjecting him to beating and mistreatment in Ward No.3, Aaurahi Rural Municipality.
According to the victim, the incident occurred after he opposed the construction of a road by the ward chairperson on his private land, following which he was allegedly tied up, beaten, and forced to vacate the land under the chairperson’s instruction. The ward chairperson, however, stated that the action was taken by locals after Sah obstructed efforts to open an encroached and closed road.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Bahadur Pal said that an investigation is underway, and legal proceedings will be taken forward based on the findings.
