The Rupandehi District Court has sentenced a 15-year-old boy to 12 years and 6 months in prison for raping a seven-year-old girl.
A bench of Judge Dhanishwar Paudel on May 1, 2026, found the accused guilty and ordered a prison sentence of 12 years and 6 months, compensation of Rs. 100,000, and the deposit of Rs. 350,000 into the victim relief fund. The court also ruled that, upon a formal application by the victim, Rs. 350,000 should be provided as compensation and Rs. 1,400 deposited into the victim relief fund, according to Information Officer Padam Aryal.
The victim’s family had filed a complaint at the Area Police Office Rupandehi on May 31, 2025, accusing the boy of rape committed on May 28, 2025. Police arrested the accused at his home on the same day the complaint was filed. The victim underwent a medical examination on May 31, 2025, at Lumbini Provincial Hospital.
