Human Rights Information and Resource Center Observation and Orientation Conducted for Young Students

Students observed and studied the Human Rights Information and Resource Center operated by the Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) Lumbini Province Office on May 8, 2026. On the same occasion, an orientation program on basic human rights was also conducted for the students.

During the program, information was provided on the concept, importance, and basic issues related to the Human Rights Information and Resource Center. Bhola Mahat, coordinator of the INSEC Lumbini Province Office, informed that the program aimed to promote study and research on human rights issues, provide information on the use of records and publications collected by INSEC, and raise awareness among young human rights defenders about human rights.

Coordinator Bhola Mahat also provided information about the purpose of establishing the Human Rights Information and Resource Center, as well as its concept and significance. He informed that documentation related to human rights violations and abuses, various publications of Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC), thematic books, and national and international human rights documents are available at the resource center. He also urged the participating students to utilize the resource center for study and research purposes.

During the program, Advocate Basant Gautam facilitated sessions on the introduction and definition of human rights, principles of human rights, international laws and conventions, fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution of Nepal, civic duties, and mechanisms for the protection of human rights.Students studying at the bachelor’s level at Adarsha Secondary School participated in the program.
