Police arrested Mukti Bhattarai, 30, a permanent resident of Sirijangha Rural Municipality-7, Taplejung, currently residing at Shivasatashi Municipality-8, Jhiljhile, on April 22 on charges of raping a 15-year-old girl.
The victim’s family filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Jhiljhile, on April 22, accusing Bhattarai of raping the victim on April 21.
The accused has been arrested for further investigation.
The victim underwent a medical examination at Mechi Provincial Hospital, Bhadrapur, on April 22.
