During the course of the Gen-Z protest, Gyanendra Tamtata, 21, who had escaped from Naubasta Prison in Banke on Bhadra 24, 2082, from Baijanath Rural Municipality–3, was arrested on April 5 by the Area Police Office, Kohalpur.
Tamtata, a resident of Chapargaudhi in Kohalpur Municipality–12, had been sentenced by the District Court on January 10, 2025, to 6 years and 6 months of imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 20,000 in a narcotics case. After his arrest, he was handed over to Naubasta Prison, according to information officer DSP Dipak Patali of the District Police Office.
