A 39-year-old man from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City–4 was found guilty of raping a 10-year-old girl on July 19, and the Makwanpur District Court has sentenced him to 45 years of imprisonment.
Judge Purnima Koirala of the District Court, in a bench on March 29, found the accused guilty and handed down a sentence of 45 years imprisonment along with a fine and compensation of Rs. 750,000, the court’s information officer Keshwaraj Kaushik stated.
The court sentenced the accused to 20 years for the rape and an additional 25 years for causing grievous bodily harm, totaling 45 years of imprisonment, information officer Kaushik said.
The court also ordered that a fine of Rs. 700,000 and compensation of Rs. 50,000 be provided to the victim from the offender, totaling Rs. 750,000, Kaushik added.
