A 16-year-old boy was arrested by the police on March 21 on charges of killing Renu Patwar, 60, from Shisai, Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality–1, by stabbing her with scissors.
On the morning of March 17, around 7 AM, Patwar was found dead inside her own shop. Her body was discovered with multiple stab wounds from scissors on her face, head, neck, and other parts of her body.
After the incident, a team dispatched from Butwal and Ranyaura Police Stations reached the scene and conducted initial investigations, including documenting the evidence.
During the investigation, it was found that the accused had an argument with the deceased over buying two “Khilli” cigarettes. On the night of March 17, around 11 PM, the accused attacked and killed her using the scissors from the shop and then fled. While searching for him, he was arrested hiding in Shuddhodhan on March 21.
According to DSP Krishna Kumar Chand of the District Police Office, the accused was arrested on March 21, and the District Court extended his remand for five days for further investigation. The police reported that one pair of iron scissors and three mobile phones were recovered from the crime scene.
The post-mortem of the body was conducted on March 17 at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal, and on the same day, the deceased’s son, Suraj Patwar, received the body, the police said.
