Meeting with Stakeholders on the Current State of Human Rights and Future Strategies

INSEC held discussions with stakeholders on the current state of human rights and future strategies in Bagmati Province on March 18.

During the meeting, Shiva Prasad Khakurel, Coordinator of INSEC’s Bagmati Province Office, presented key concerns and recommendations regarding necessary initiatives in the field of human rights to Kanchan Chandra Bade, the Honorable Minister for Social Development under the Bagmati Province Government. He also shared information about INSEC’s ongoing activities across various districts of the province aimed at the protection and promotion of human rights, along with its future plans.

Similarly, the delegation held discussions on the current human rights situation and future directions with Meena Lama, Mayor of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City; Apsara Chapagain, Chief Attorney of the Bagmati Province Government; Senior Superintendent of Police Nanti Raj Gurung from the Bagmati Province Police Office; and SP Shyam Bahadur Khatri of the District Police Office, Makwanpur.

The meeting was attended by INSEC Director Madan Paudel, Bagmati Province Coordinator Shiv Prasad Khakurel, Assistant Officer Barun Basyal, and INSEC Makwanpur Representative Manjita Mainali.

On the same occasion, INSEC also handed over copies of the Nepal Human Rights Yearbook 2026 and other publications to the stakeholders.
