Police arrested Hum Kumari Jhedi Magar, 51, and her daughter Khagishwara Jhedi Magar, 21, from the same locality on March 10 on the charge of abusing Lila Kumari Shrestha, 56, of Banganga Municipality-1, Uptahki, accusing her of being a “witch”.
The accused allegedly abused the victim on March 10 by accusing her of being a “witch” and striking different parts of her body with burning embers.
According to DSP Ripendra Kumar Singh of the District Police Office Kapilvastu, blisters have appeared on different parts of the victim’s body due to burns.
The victim filed a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office on March 10.
Police said the victim underwent a health examination and was admitted for treatment at Pipara Hospital, Kapilvastu, on March 10.
