Two Polling Station Added in Sankhuwasabha

For the upcoming House of Representatives election to be held March 5, one polling station has been added at Barun Basic School, Siprung, located in Bhote Khola Rural Municipality–4, to make voter access simpler, easier, and more well-managed.

Among the recommendations made by the District-level Polling Station and Polling Centre Recommendation Committee for the House of Representatives election, one polling station has been added at Barun Basic School, according to Santosh Rai, Chief of the District Election Office.

Due to geographical remoteness, the number of voters, and the compulsion for voters to walk for four to five hours to reach a polling station, the committee had recommended the addition of four polling stations.

With the addition of the new polling station, the district now has a total of 109 polling stations.

Similarly, the polling station at Dipjyoti Basic School, Yaphu Danda in Makalu Rural Municipality–6 has been relocated to the ward office, Chief Rai informed.

For the House of Representatives election in the district, 158 women and 192 men have registered their candidacies.

According to the District Election Office, the district’s 10 local levels have a total of 119,630 voters, comprising 57,458 women and 62,172 men.
