Over 229,000 Voters Registered in Gulmi

In Gulmi, 229,549 voters have been registered. For the upcoming election, 114,337 male and 115,210 female voters have been registered. Compared to the 2022 election, the number of voters has increased by 5,275. According to Election Officer Krishiram Ghimire of the Gulmi Election Office, in 2022, there were 110,059 male and 114,215 female voters, totaling 224,274 voters. Ghimire stated that in both 2022 and the upcoming election, the number of female voters in the district is higher than that of male voters.

According to the new voter numbers, in Constituency No. 1, Kaligandaki Rural Municipality has 14,921, Gulmidarbar 19,611, Chandrakot 16,320, Chhatrakot 20,191, Ruru area 17,201, Satyawati 19,396, and Resunga Municipality (Wards 7–14) 14,546 voters.

Similarly, in Constituency No. 2, Resunga Municipality (Wards 1–6) has 10,348, Isma 18,305, Dhurkot 19,110, Madane 16,579, Malika 18,043, and Musikot Municipality 24,978 voters, the Gulmi Election Office stated.

Constituency No. 1 has 83 polling sites and 155 polling centers, while Constituency 2 has 62 polling sites and 129 polling centers. Currently, three new polling sites have been added in the district. Election Information Officer Harka Shris said that new polling sites have been established in Satyawati-6, Gulmidarbar-1, and Musikot-1. Currently, 2,823 new voters-1,174 women and 1,649 men-have been added in Gulmi.

Out of 145 polling sites in Gulmi, 48 are highly sensitive. Of these, 57 polling sites are classified as sensitive, and 40 polling sites as normal, Chief District Officer Badrinath Gaire stated. Gaire said that all polling sites have been monitored and categorized from a security perspective, along with the district’s security plan.
