In the current context, the role of the Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) in the factual documentation of human rights violations and atrocities has become increasingly important, said Bijay Raj Gautam, Chairperson of INSEC.

Addressing the annual editorial meeting of the Nepal Human Rights Yearbook 2026, which began on December 22 in Pokhara, organized by the central office of INSEC, Chairperson Gautam emphasized that the collection of reliable facts is indispensable for the protection and promotion of human rights.
Chairperson Gautam highlighted the need for the continuous updating of events to make the Yearbook more factual and credible. He noted that the editorial meeting would be useful for information gathering, fact verification, and ensuring reliability. He also stressed the importance of making monitoring, documentation, and protection of potential human rights violations during the upcoming House of Representatives election on March 5, 2026, more effective.
At the editorial meeting, INSEC Director Madan Paudel informed that the Nepal Human Rights Yearbook 2026 would be finalized based on the suggestions, information, and facts received during the meeting.

The editorial meeting, held from December 22 to 25, included the participation of departmental heads from INSEC’s central office, coordinators from provincial offices, and documentation officers.
