Police arrested Amraj Damai, 48, on December 20, 2025, on charges of beating his wife, Rima, 52, to death. The incident occurred in Runtigadhi Rural Municipality–5.
On December 20, 2025, Rima was injured due to assault by her husband and was taken to the Primary Health Center, Holeri, for treatment, where she died.
According to Inspector Sunil Thapa of the District Police Office, Rolpa, after the victim’s side filed a complaint at the Area Police Office on December 20, 2025, alleging that the accused had beaten his wife while under the influence of alcohol, leading to her death during treatment, the accused husband was arrested, and an investigation is underway.
Inspector Thapa further informed that the body has been kept at Rolpa Hospital, Reugha, for post-mortem examination. After the post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the relatives.
