The Election Commission has granted permission to 31 organisations to observe the upcoming House of Representatives election. The Commission has allowed 27 national and four international organisations to carry out election observation.
The Commission had called for applications from national and international organisations interested in observing the House of Representatives Election on October 28, 2025. According to the Commission, applications were received from 44 national and five international organisations. Among the applicant organisations, those that fulfilled the criteria and procedures specified in the Election Observation Guidelines, 2022 were approved for election observation, informed Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Commission.
He stated that organisations that failed to submit the required documents as per the Election Observation Guidelines have been notified to submit additional documents within five days. The Commission clarified that decisions regarding such organizations will be made after the requested documents are received.
The national organisations granted permission include Democracy Resource Center Nepal, Samuhik Abhiyan, Nepal Human Rights Organisation, Youth Advocacy Nepal, Election Observation Committee Nepal, Democracy and Election Concern Nepal, NGO Federation of Nepal, Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC), Youth in Federal Debate, Social Mobilisation and Awareness Enhancement Group Nepal, Nepal Voters’ Rights Forum, National Election Observation Committee (NEOC), and National Federation of the Disabled Nepal.
Similarly, Human Rights and Social Transformation Campaign Nepal, Good Governance Federation Nepal, International UNHR Council Nepal, National Professional Initiative, Forum for Women, Law and Development, Bagishwori Good Governance Club (BAS), Samriddha Aadhar Nepal, Legal and Judicial Studies Institute, Women Service Organisation Nepal, Yuwalaya, World Consumer Federation Nepal, Unnata Nepal, Pragyaik Vidyarthi Parishad Nepal, and Sancharika Samuha Nepal have also received permission.
Likewise, the international organisations include The Carter Center (USA), Asia Network for Free Elections, The Multidisciplinary Institute of Training and Learning (Massachusetts), and the International Republican Institute.
