Police have arrested five individuals on November 17 on charges of vandalising, arson and looting government and police office buildings and property in various location of Kavre district during the protest on September 9, 2025.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabin Bista, the information officer at the Kavre District Police Office, those arrested on charges of involvement in arson, vandalism, and looting are Ajay Tamang, 21, of Dhulikhel Municipality–3, Bishal Bholan, 21, of Khanikhola Rural Municipality–1, Rabindra Pariyar, 22, of Banepa Municipality–3, Abhi Sudhakaar, 21, of Banepa Municipality–8, and Bhim Tamang, 29, of Jiri Municipality–9, Dolakha district.
Two of the arrested individuals already had prior cases registered against them. A narcotics case was registered against Bishal Bholan at the Banepa Area Police Office in 2024, and a vehicular manslaughter case was registered against Abhi Sudhakaar in 2023. The Kavre police stated that they have intensified their search for others involved in arson and vandalism.
