The District Court of Kapilvastu has sentenced Hariom Prakash Kori,21, of Kapilvastu Municipality-4 to two years and six months in prison for the crime of abducting , confining, and raping a 14-year-old girl. The bench of Judge Prakash Chandra Adhikari at the District Court of Kapilvastu on October 21 also imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000, and ordered him to deposit Rs. 800 into the Victim Relief Fund, according to Ananta Marasini, the court registrar.
The aggrieved party had filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Kapilvastu, on July 4, 2022, stating that the accused had abducted , confined, and raped the girl on July 2. The victim’s medical examination was done on July 4 at Kapilvastu Hospital, Taulihawa. The police arrested the accused from his home on the same day.
