The meeting of the Human Rights Help Desk was held on November 6 under the leadership of Narayan Subedi, Coordinator of INSEC Karnali Province Office. In the meeting it was decided that among the applications received at the helpdesk, Feminist Dalit Organization( FEDO) will assist Bhawana Nepali,29, of Lekbesi Municipality-7, in pursuing legal proceedings, while Aawaaj will provide psychosocial support.
Additionally, Aawaaj will provide legal and psychosocial support to Dhanrupa Thapa ,36,of Gurbakot Municipality-10. Similarly, Rs 7,000 will be provided to Rita Kandel,33 of Lekbesi Municipality-1, Rs 8,000 to Saidun Banu of Birendranagar-9, and legal assistance to Dhanmaya Salami,27, Naumule Rural Municipality-1.
The meeting was attended by Rajendra Neupane, Officer at the National Human Rights Commission, Karnali Province Office, Durga Sapkota, Chairperson of the High Bar, Surkhet, Khagisara Wali, Secretary of the Dalit Women’s Association, Surkhet, Nisha Paudel from Aawaaj, Advocate Gita Koirala, Madhurani Dhakal,Executive Director of Women Association For Marginalized Women (WAM), and others.
