Three Among 92 Escapees Arrested in Jhapa During Gen-Z Movement

Among those who escaped from the District Police Office, Jhapa, under the jurisdiction of the Area Police Offices Damak, Birtamod, and Jhiljhili during the Gen-Z movement, the police have arrested three individuals.

On the occasion of the Gen-Z movement, out of 36 individuals who escaped from the custody of the Area Police Office, Birtamod on September 9, 2025, the police have arrested three.

In a narcotics case, Veer Bahadur Rajbanshi, 26 from Birtamod Municipality–3, who was in custody at the Area Police Office, Birtamod, on September 9, was arrested on November 5 from Birtamod Municipality–3, Birta Bazaar. Similarly, in a narcotics case, Gangaraj Chauhan, 26 and Sujan Adhikari, 21 from Ilam Municipality–9, Ilam District, who had escaped from the custody of the Area Police Office, Birtamod on September 8, were arrested on September 18.

33 inmates are still at large from the Area Police Office, Birtamod. Among those at large are, Vijay Karmakar, 27 from Damak Municipality–1, Santosh Misteri, 32 from Kamal Rural Municipality–1, Vishal Gautam, 27 from Birtamod Municipality–1, Mohammad Mamaj Miya, 24 from Birtamod Municipality–3, Mustaq Ansari, 19 and Sunil Yadav, 26 from Kanakai Municipality–4, Vinod Ghimire, 28 from Arjundhara Municipality–6, Vinod BK, 22 from Bhiman Rural Municipality–10, Sindhuli District, Premkala Mahato, 29 from Jhapa Rural Municipality–3, Anumesh Giri, 32 from Birtamod Municipality–6, Jeevan Chamlagai, 19 from Arjundhara Municipality–3, Rajendra Pandhak, 27 from Birtamod Municipality–5, Saroj Paudel, 28 from Haldibari Rural Municipality–4, Pankaj Raj Mainali, 36 and Shankar Chimria, 23 from Birtamod Municipality–8, Pradeep Rai, 22 from Bhadrapur Municipality–10, Raju Lama, 27 from Namkha Rural Municipality–1, Humla District, Ghanshyam Shah, 32 from Arjundhara Municipality–8, Suraj Gurung, 31 from Birtamod Municipality–5, and Ramesh Mukhia Sunuwar, 25 from Kanakai Municipality–3.

In a theft case, Nitesh Shiva Damai, 27 from Arjundhara Municipality–8, now residing in Birtamod Municipality–4, Chandra Bahadur Dhamala, 18 from Kanakai Municipality–7, and Krishna Paudel, 23 from Birtamod Municipality–7 are at large.

In an indecent behavior case, Ganesh Mistri, 33 from Bhadrapur Municipality–8, Ramkumar Dhimal, 35 from Damak Municipality–4, Hom Bahadur BK, 26 from Pakhriwas Municipality–5, Dhankuta District, Shailendra Mehta, 22 from Duhabi Municipality–12, Sunsari, Rohan Chaudhary, 29 from Bhadrapur Municipality–3 (temporary address), and  Dikendra Thapa, 29 from Bahirdashi Rural Municipality–5 are at large.

Yogendra Mainali, 41 from Kankai Municipality–3, who was in police custody for investigation in a killing-for-hire case, is also at large.

During the Gen-Z movement, 51 inmates escaped from the Area Police Office, Damak, 36 from Birtamod, and 5 from Jhiljhili, totalling 92 escapees. Although three individuals have been arrested, 89 are still to be apprehended, according to DSP Khagendra Khadka of the District Police Office.
