According to the prison administration, 20-year-old Muskan Danuwar of Urlabari Municipality–1, who was serving his sentence at the District Prison Office, Morang, died during treatment on October 29.
Danuwar, who had been serving a 12-year prison sentence since February 5, 2025 in a rape case, passed away during treatment at Koshi Hospital, said Jailer Gaurav Dhungel.
He was admitted to Koshi Hospital on the morning of October 29 after experiencing swelling in his body and died while undergoing treatment, Dhungel added.
The victim’s family has been informed that Danuwar had fallen ill and died during treatment at the hospital. The body, currently kept at the Koshi Hospital morgue, is being prepared to be handed over to the family.
