The Nepal Police have arrested two individuals on charges of involvement in human organ trafficking. A team from the District Police Office, Kathmandu, arrested them on October 13, 2025 for allegedly luring ordinary people with promises and taking them to India for the illegal sale of their kidneys.
The arrested individuals are Motilal Tamang, 34 from Manthali Municipality–16, Ramechhap, currently residing in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, and Narayan Wan, 47 from Itahari Municipality, Sunsari, according to spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai.
The spokesperson further stated that the arrested suspects have been handed over to the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau in Babarmahal for further investigation and necessary legal action.
