Flooding in Jhapa has affected 450 houses. According to Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Superintendent of Police and spokesperson for the District Police Office, continuous rainfall since October 4 caused rivers to overflow into settlements, inundating homes across various parts of the district. Rescue operations are ongoing with the support of the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and local residents. Khadka stated that they have already relocated residents from approximately 100 houses.

He reported that rising waters from Kalikhola in Mechinagar Municipality-6 have blocked the East-West Highway. Similarly, flooding in Sukuna Khola, Shivasatakshi Municipality-10, washed away a hump pipe, disrupting transportation. Spokesperson Khadka stated that work to reopen the blocked roads is underway. In Sugabathan, Jhapa Rural Municipality-2, flooding from the Mai River settlement displaced 140 people from 56 households. The displaced residents have been rescued and relocated to Kuwadi Secondary School in the area.
