Prohibitory Order Issued in Five Areas of Banke

The District Administration Office has imposed a prohibitory order in five areas of the district. The local administration announced that, effective from 7:00 p.m. on October 4 until further notice, the order will apply to the entire area of Duduwa Rural Municipality-6, the entire area of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-14,  the Suiya Piprahawa area of Ward No. 15; Bhajjipurwa, Jangali Singhpurwa, and Loharanpurwa of Ward No. 23; and the entire area of Narainapur Rural Municipality- 5.

The prohibitory order was issued after a clash broke out between the Hindu and Muslim communities during the immersion of Goddess Durga’s idol on October 3. Meanwhile, Chief District Officer Dharmaraj Joshi reported to the National News Agency that the situation is now under control. He informed that a discussion was held on Saturday with representatives of all political parties, local officials, and community leaders, during which they agreed to identify and take legal action against those responsible for the incident, maintain religious harmony, and refrain from organizing processions, gatherings, conferences, or rallies without prior approval from the administration.
