Advocates protesting in the premise of the Supreme Court demanding resignation of the Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR were beaten with baton by police on November 18. Nine people were injured during the protest with the police.
Earlier, a group of advocates were protesting at the main gate of the Supreme Court and on November 18, had tried to block the alternative way from which the Chief Justice had been entering the Supreme Court after which police had charged baton on them. During the scuffle, Chairperson of the Nepal Bar Association Chandeswor Shrestha along with eight others were injured.
Advocate Prakash Maharjan, 45, of Godawari Municipality-12, Thecho was seriously injured. Currently, he is being treated at Annapurna Neuro Hospital, informed Rakshya Bashyal, Vice Chairperson of Nepal Bar Association.
