The district court of Kailali has ordered life imprisonment to Dev Bahadur Mahata, 36, of Godavari Municipality-10 for raping a 31-year-old woman.
Shrestedar Raibhan Kunjeda told INSEC that District Judge Tekraj Joshi gave the verdict on December 29, 2021.
The victim was raped on March 3, 2021 and the complaint was also filed on the same day at the Area Police Office, Malakheti.
A case of rape was filed against the accused through the office of the District Attorney on March 4. The accused was remanded to custody on March 26.
The health checkup of the victim was conducted at Seti Provincial Hospital on March 3.
