A 16-year-old boy has been sentenced to one year and six months imprisonment for raping an eight-year-old girl.
A bench of District Court Judge Hemant Rawal gave the verdict on September 5, 2021, and sentenced him to Juvenile Rehabilitation Centre for the term of imprisonment, said Ishwor Acharya, information officer of the court.
The relatives of the victim had lodged a complaint against the 16-year-old boy at the Area Police Office, Ratnanagar on September 7, 2020, alleging that he had raped the girl on September 6. The girl was examined at Bharatpur Hospital on the same day.
The accused child was arrested by the police on September 6 and a case was registered in the district court on September 20.
