The high level investigation commission formed by the government, in chairmanship of former justice Girish Chandra Lal, to find the fact during the incidents in Terai, Madhes and Tharuhat agitation has started to discuss with victims and gathering information.
The commission’s chairman Girish Chandra Lal along with his team members Surya Prasad Koirala, Nawa Raj Dhakal, Sukh Chandra Jha, Sujan Lokchan and other staffs are in Mahottari since two days to gather the information on incidents of murder, violence, vandalism, arson, human rights violation and atrocities during terai, madhes and Tharuhat agitation prior and post issuance of constitution.
The field study visit has started from March 25 and will continue till March 27 and during this period information collection, inspection, monitoring and counseling program will be held according to Chairman Girish Chandra Lal. According to him, in commission, there are 1300 complaints already lodged and hundreds of complaints are still waiting to be lodged.
During Terai Madhes agitation, 17 years old Rohan Chaudhary of Jaleshwor Municipality-7, Ram Bibek Yadav, 22 of Mahottari VDC-5, Amit Kapar, 22 of Jaleshwor municipality-14 were killed in a bullet shot during a clash between the police and cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front on 2015, September 9. In a same incident, 32 years old Birendra Biccha died while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu.
Similarly, Ganesh Chaudhary, 60 of Jaleshwor Municipality-7 and Ramshila Mandal, 36 of Hattilet-9 were killed in a bullet fire during a clash between police and cadres of Madhesi Morcha on September 11.
The team has also visited Sanaukhada of Mahottari municipality-1 to investigate the incident on heinous killings of 25 years old ASI Thaman Bahadur B.K on September 11 during Madhes agitation.
