Police have arrested Shanti Tamang, 28, on August 25, 2021, in the accusation of beating and injuring her six-year-old stepdaughter Purnima Pariyar of Kawasoti Municipality-16, Pipreni.
The accused had beaten Purnima on August 25 after which she was badly injured. Inspector Madhusudan Singh told INSEC that the victim’s side had lodged a verbal complaint against Shanti at the District Police Office on the same day after Purnima’s head and knees were wounded severely.
He said that the police has arrested the accused on the basis of the verbal complaint and is investigating the incident. However, a written complaint is yet to be filed by the victim against the accused.
The victim was examined and treated at the Madhyabindu District Hospital on August 25.
