Police have arrested 36 student leaders of All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) for demonstrating in front of the Indian Embassy. They had demonstrated after knowing about India’s encroachment on Nepal’s land and making a way to Mansarovar.
They were arrested from Uttardhoka while gathering to go for the demonstration, informed the student leader Sudesh Parajuli.
Some of the arrested ones are Sudesh Parajuli, Yashu Lama, Mahesh Shrestha, Ashok Thapa, Uttar Khadka, Prem Pradhan, Nyusan Lamichhane, Binod Khanal, Mahesh Shrestha, Rohan Bista, Bigyan Dahal, Rabin Jung Basnet, Sushil Magar, Sujan Shrestha, Kailash Ghimire and Alija Dhakal. There were 35 men and one woman.
After the Home Minister of India, Raj Nath Singh inaugurated the Darchula Lipulekh Link Road on 8 May to join the route to Mansarovar in Tibet. This route links Pithauragad to the Gunji of Darchula to reach Lipulekh.
After this move from India, the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Pradeep Gyawali has expressed his disappointment.
