Attack on Nagarik Editor Height of Audacity
We strongly condemn the attack on the Editor-in-Chief of Nagarik Daily Prateek Pradhan on the evening of January 7. An unidentified group had attacked the car of Pradhan (Ba4Pa 2959) with sword and lathi at Bhimsen Gola marg while he was returning from office.
Freedom of expression is the first condition of democracy. Thus freedom, respect and safety of media persons are responsibility within the State’s priority. This brutal attempt to attack at a busy road shows the height of audacity of criminals. We urge the government to take immediate action against the assailants and reveal the details of their accomplices.
