The police have arrested Manish Thapa, 23, originally from Baglung and currently residing in Hemja, Pokhara Metropolitan City-25 on March 1, for allegedly abusing two women. The accused reportedly harassed the women in Chipledhunga, Pokhara, and also physically assaulted them.
The accused reportedly beat and quarreled with the women on February 27 at 3 PM at a parking area in Chipledhunga, Pokhara Metropolitan City-9. The video of the incident circulated on social media. After the video went public on various social media platforms, the police began an investigation and search.
Hari Bahadur Basnet, Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Kaski, stated that the person involved in the incident was arrested, and further legal proceedings have been initiated. He said, “After the incident was made public on social media, the police team dispatched from the office conducted an investigation, identified the person involved, and took him into custody directly from Chipledhunga.”
The police stated that further investigation is ongoing against the arrested Thapa.
