An interaction program on human rights has been organized at community and three elementary schools in Rupendehi in coordination of INSEC Rupendehi, Blue Diamond Society and Human Rights and Peace Society on the occasion of 70th International Human Rights Day.
Speaking at the program, chief Pawan Kumar Bhatta of Human Rights Commission province 5 facilitated students in context of history of human rights, child rights and how NHRC operates.
During the program INSEC district representative Reema BC of Rupendehi facilitated on the issue of 16 days campaign of gender violence, women and children violence and overall situation of human rights of the district.
Speaking at the program chairperson Aanik Rana of Blue Diamond Society said that changes can be started from the school. He added that third gender are still being discriminated in the society and conceptual change is necessary for this.
On the occasion of 70th Human Rights Day, candle light vigil was organized in joint coordination from INSEC, NHRC and office of the minister.
Speaking at the vigil program, secretary Bharat Mani Rijal of office of the chief minister and minister’s office said that the government is completely committed for the protection and promotion of human rights.
