The local Administration has once again imposed curfew in different locations within the district for the second day i.e. July 28 2026.
The District Administration Office reimposed curfew which was lifted from July 28 2026 morning. The curfew was reimposed on the affected areas for the second day, after the locals started coming out on the roads amidst the curfew period. The District Administration Office has declared prohibitory order in Southern Seven Market area until further notice.
According to the order of Ishwari Aryal, Chief District Officer effective from July 28 2026, 7AM as per Section 6(a) of the Local Administration Act, 2028 not more than four individuals are allowed to gather, activities like procession, protest, meeting, demonstrations are prohibited.
The Administration has informed those who violate the order in accordance with the law will be fined with NPR 1,000 or sentenced to imprisonment for 1 month or both.
The areas where the prohibitory order will be applicable includes Harinagar Bazar Area, Kaptanganj Bazar Area, Ghuski Bazar Area, Nuniya Tola Bazar and Dewanganj Bazar Area. The prohibitory order has specified the eastern, western, northern and southern boundaries of those areas.
The District Administration Office informed the prohibitory order were issued to ensure maintenance of peace and safety and to prevent occurrence of any unfortunate incidents.
A 24-year-old Om Prakash Sharma was killed after a police firing that took place during a clash between two groups in Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3, Kaptanganj on July 26 2026 at 10 pm. Few protesters were injured during the protest. Two amongst those injured are in critical condition.
