A clash occurred during the selection of representatives ahead of the Parsa district convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), leaving two individuals injured.
The injured have been identified as Mahadev Prasad Kuri, 32, of Birgunj Metropolitan City-14, Pipara, and Gautam Shrestha, 29. They received primary treatment at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj.
Among those involved in the clash, Gyanendra Malla, 29, of Birgunj Metropolitan City-32, was arrested by police and released after two hours, according to Parsa Police Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Basnet.
Party members of Mahadev Prasad Kuri, central general convention representative Sudhir Patel, and others submitted a memorandum to Madhesh Province Vice President, and election committee member Radhika Neupane. They alleged that the district president and Member of Parliament from Parsa-1, Hari Pant’s faction, had violated the party constitution and procedures by selecting more representatives from their own group, expressing dissatisfaction over the selection process, and demanding the postponement of the convention.
