During the visit, INSEC Bagmati Province Coordinator Shiva  Khakurel and the General Secretary of Children’s Zone of Peace (CZOP), Raju Ghimire, gathered information regarding the conditions at the holding centres, as well as issues related to children’s education and resettlement.

According to the monitoring, the Kirtipur holding centre houses a total of 181 individuals, including 72 women, 51 men, 30 boys, and 28 girls. In the Nagarjun holding centre, there are 95 people from 41 families, and the population is reported to be fluctuating due to arrivals and departures, as stated by security guard Nar Prasad Dhakal.

Residents living in the holding centres expressed concern over their long-term resettlement. They have urged the concerned authorities to ensure timely and proper management and resettlement in a way that guarantees everyone’s welfare and a secure future.

The monitoring team emphasized that the concerned authorities should pay special attention to the basic needs, child rights, and safe housing conditions of the residents in the holding centres.
