During the Gen-Z protest of September 8 and 9, Dhiraj alias Motidhan Rai, 43, a native of Khotang and resident of Panchkhal Municipality–7, Kavre, who had escaped from Bhadrabandhi Jail, was arrested by police on May 5.
The absconding Rai was arrested from Shikharpur, Ward No. 7 of Panchkhal Municipality, Kavre, by a team deployed from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku.
He had been serving a life imprisonment sentence after being convicted in a murder case by the Kathmandu District Court’s verdict dated September 18, 2019, and was held at the Central Prison, Bhadrabandhi Griha, Sundhara, while serving his sentence.
Police have stated that he has been sent to Central Jail, Jagannath Deval, Sundhara, for necessary legal proceedings.
