Ambulance Driver Attacked; Three Arrested

Police arrested three individuals on March 21 on charges of attempting to beat and vandalize an ambulance that was transporting a patient toward Nepalgunj.

Those arrested are Prabin Gahatraj, 20, Bishal BK, 18, and Bishal BK, 19, all residents of Bheriganga Municipality–11.

According to police, at around 10:07 PM on March 20, a group of five to six individuals under the influence of alcohol stopped the ambulance at Sadi Khola in Bheriganga Municipality–11 and attempted to beat the driver. The ambulance was being driven by Basanta Sharma, 32, a resident of Kumakh Rural Municipality–3 in Salyan district, who was transporting a patient.

Following the incident, driver Sharma informed the Area Police Office in Chhinchu, after which a police team was deployed to the scene. However, during the initial search, no suspicious individuals were found in the area, and the ambulance proceeded toward its destination.

At around 9 AM on March 21, Sharma informed the police again that the rear glass of the ambulance had been broken, after which the investigation was intensified.

Inspector Dipak Magarathi from the District Police Office stated that the search for other individuals involved in the incident is ongoing, and further investigation into those arrested is underway.
