Rita Rai, 46, from Ranipani, Hariharpurghadi Rural Municipality-3, was killed by her husband, Birbahadur Rai, 45, with an axe on March 1, 2026. Deputy Superintendent of Police Suryaprakash Subedi from the District Police Office stated that the victim died at the scene.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team led by Assistant Inspector Nareshkumar Rai arrested Birbahadur, and further investigation is ongoing, Assistant Inspector Rai reported.
